Paltalk Microphone Not Working? Try This

If your Paltalk microphone isn't working, the cause may be Paltalk, Windows permissions, the wrong recording device, Bluetooth/USB hardware, drivers or another audio application.
🎤 1. Test the microphone in Windows: Open Settings → System → Sound → Input, select your microphone and speak. If Windows doesn't detect your voice, fix that before troubleshooting Paltalk.
🔐 2. Check microphone permissions: Open Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone and make sure microphone access and desktop application access are enabled.
🎧 3. Check the selected microphone: Computers can have webcam, laptop, USB, Bluetooth and virtual microphones. Make sure you're actually using the intended device.
🔌 4. Reconnect USB devices: Close Paltalk, disconnect the headset/microphone, reconnect it, verify Windows detects it and then reopen Paltalk.
📶 5. Check Bluetooth: Verify the headset is connected, charged and selected as the correct recording device.
🔇 6. Check physical mute: Look for headset mute switches, flip-to-mute microphones and keyboard microphone buttons.
🔄 7. Restart Paltalk: Especially if you connected or changed audio hardware while Paltalk was already running.
🪟 8. Restart Windows: This can clear problems involving audio services, Bluetooth, USB devices and drivers.
⚙️ 9. Check audio drivers: Use Device Manager and the hardware manufacturer's drivers when appropriate. Avoid random driver-download websites.
🎙️ 10. Close other audio programs: Recording, streaming, voice-chat and virtual mixer applications can interfere with microphone operation.
🧪 11. Try another microphone: If another microphone works immediately, you've quickly narrowed the problem to the original device or its configuration.
♻️ 12. Update/reinstall Paltalk: If every microphone works everywhere except Paltalk, make sure you're running a current Paltalk release and consider reinstalling it from the official source.
